20-year-old man dead after crash in Kehewin Cree Nation

A man is dead after a collision in Kehewin Cree Nation Wednesday evening.

Around 4:40 p.m. on Nov. 10, Bonnyville RCMP responded to a two-vehicle crash at Highway 657 and Range Road 460.

RCMP say its investigation revealed that an east bound car lost control and stuck a guard rail before being T boned by an oncoming vehicle.

A 20-year-old man from Kehewin Cree Nation was dead at the scene, while a 49-year-old woman was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, mounties said.

Kehewin Cree Nations Emergency Services and Emergency Medical Services also attended the scene.

Bonnyville RCMP continue to investigate the crash with the assistance of an Alberta RCMP collision analyst.

RCMP say the next-of-kin for the 20-year-old man have been notified and are being assisted by Bonnyville Victim Services and RCMP.

Kehewin Cree Nation is about 236 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
