Multiple properties were damaged following an accidental fire in south Edmonton Friday morning.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services received a call at 4:49 a.m. reporting a structure fire near Stanton Drive and 60 Street. Eight crews arrived on scene minutes later to find two detached garages on fire, spokesman Kyle Owcharuk said in a statement.
The fire was brought under control shortly before 5:30 a.m. and declared out at 6:48 a.m.
The blaze destroyed one of the garages and heavily damaged the second, while a total of eight properties were affected by the fire.
The total damage estimate is $800,000 and the cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental.
There were no reported injuries.
