Premier Jason Kenney and Education Minister Adriana LaGrange are scheduled to provide an update on rapid testing for COVID-19 in Alberta schools at noon.
A notice issued to media Saturday morning said the pair would be making an appearance to provide their update later in the day.
Two schools in Calgary, Rundle School and St. John XXIII School, were selected in March to begin a rapid testing pilot to screen students and staff without symptoms. In the three-week program, more than 100,000 rapid testing kits were offered to all students and staff with no symptoms each week.
The province has also previously distributed rapid testing kits to seniors lodging and long term care homes. Several private industry businesses have also previously received rapid test kits from the province.
More to come…
