Body found in North Saskatchewan River identified as missing swimmer

A body found in the North Saskatchewan River on Wednesday has been identified as Samuel Martin.

Martin, 31, was swimming in the river between Dawson Park and the Capilano Bridge with a friend on Saturday when he did not resurface.

Edmonton police say Martin’s body was discovered in the river near Rundle Park. His death is believed to be non-criminal in nature.
