A child is dead after a fatal collision near the Alberta-B.C. border on Friday.

Spirit River RCMP received a report of a serious injury crash between a water truck and a child on a dirt bike shortly before 6 p.m., south of Township Road 784 and Highway 49 on Oct. 22.
Mounties say the child was declared dead at the scene.
The RCMP’s investigation determined the driver of the water truck was making repeated trips between properties. The child on the motorbike was in the path of the truck when it backed up and struck the child.
Spirit River RCMP continue to investigate the crash with the help of an RCMP collision reconstructionist.
Dawson Creek RCMP from B.C., Bonanza Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also attended the scene.
