Alberta reported 33 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths on Tuesday, marking more than two weeks since the province last saw new daily case counts in three digits.

The last time Alberta reported 100 or more new cases of COVID-19 on one day was June 19.
The 33 latest cases were detected in 4,415 tests, giving the province a positivity rate of 0.7 per cent.
According to the numbers released Tuesday, active cases in the province also remain at low levels not seen since July 2020.
Alberta has 763 active cases, primarily in the Calgary zone. Edmonton has 134 active cases.
Officials are screening all positive cases for variant strains of the virus. On Monday, 12 new variant cases were identified, bringing the total number of active variant cases in the province to 484.
Currently there are 138 people in hospital with the virus including 32 in intensive care.
As of end of day Monday, 73.5 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12 or older had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. About half — 49.6 per cent — of that same group have received both doses.
