Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinhaw will be providing an update on COVID-19 in the province Tuesday at 3:30 p.m..
This comes the day after Premier Jason Kenney said the province was developing a summer reopening plan that takes vaccination rates and hospitalization numbers into account.
The most recent information released Monday shows that 678 Albertans – up from 647 the day before – are hospitalized with COVID-19, including 181 in the ICU. The province reported 721 new cases as of end-of-day Sunday, compared to 1,140 new cases the day before. It represents the smallest daily increase since March 30, when 576 new cases were reported.
However, the province only completed 7,002 tests on Sunday, compared to 11,858 on Saturday
