COVID-19: Hinshaw COVID-19 update scheduled for Tuesday afternoon

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw is scheduled to provide her update on COVID-19 in the province Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday marks the first day back in class for most Alberta students just over two weeks after the government moved learning online.

All kindergarten to Grade 12 classes are returning to in-person learning, with the exception of schools in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo that will stay home until at least May 31.

Over the Victoria Day long weekend, Premier Jason Kenney tweeted that the government would “have exciting news this week about the great Alberta summer that lies ahead.”

The province’s Emergency Management Cabinet Committee, which makes decisions about what restrictions are in place in Alberta to manage the COVID-19 pandemic, had a scheduled virtual meeting Tuesday morning.
