Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw will provide an update on COVID-19 in the province Monday afternoon.
On Sunday, the province reported 300 new cases of COVID-19, including 54 cases of variants. Only preliminary case information could be provided because of system upgrades.
As of Saturday, Alberta had 4,649 active cases and 247 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 with 42 of those in intensive care. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,914 Albertans have died due to the virus.
Hinshaw is scheduled to speak at 3:30 p.m.
