More than half of eligible Albertans 12 years old or older have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

As of the end of Tuesday, more than 4.6 million doses of a vaccine have been administered in the province. As it stands, 73.6 per cent of Albertans age 12 or older have been vaccinated with at least one dose and 50.7 per cent of Albertans in the same group are fully vaccinated, according to data released Wednesday.
The government says more than 1.9 million Albertans are now fully vaccinated.
“The more Albertans who are vaccinated, the stronger we all are against COVID-19,” Health Minister Tyler Shandro said in a statement.
“I encourage Albertans who have not signed up for their vaccine yet to do so immediately to protect themselves and their loved ones. Every dose matters.”
On Wednesday Alberta reported 67 new cases of COVID-19 and two more deaths. There are 140 people in hospital including 30 people in intensive care.
The province has 745 active cases including 137 in the Edmonton zone.
Twenty-one new cases of a variant of the virus were identified on Tuesday. There are currently 453 active variant cases in the province.
