Nearly 1,000 people donated more than $414,000, according to Nickel’s website . Nickel initially said he would not be releasing the list prior to the election, telling Postmedia earlier this week that he didn’t want to give any more ammunition to those who choose to target his donors.
Developers listed include One Properties CEO Darren Durstling and Langham Development’s Reza Mostashari, both who gave $5,000, the maximum allowed. Principal of RMS Group, Curtis Way, gave $4,000. Tony and David Ghermezian — two members of the family famous for building large malls across North America, including the West Edmonton Mall — donated $3,000 and $3,750, respectively. Tim Melton, board chairman and former CEO of Melco Developments, also donated $500.
