A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

Monday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -6.1 C with 17 km/h winds out of the south, southeast.

Ah, yes. Wind chill, my arch nemesis. I see you hath returneth to ruineth all with your spiteful nature.

It doesn’t make much; just a hint of a breeze on a chilly day is enough to make you question your entire life’s choices. Forecasters today aren’t just calling for a slight breeze, either, with winds pegged in the 20 km/h range all day making things feel closer to -12 this morning and all afternoon. The wind should let up a little during the evening but by then it’s already hibernation time so who cares.

On a positive note: we should be above 0 C tomorrow!

On a negative note: it’s the only day in the forecast above 0 C.

The average high for this time of year is 9 C so I guess October is paying us back for those first gorgeous seven days of the month. Seems only fair.
