Edmonton homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man early Sunday morning near Whyte Avenue.

At about 2:18 a.m. Sunday, southwest division officers were called to the report of a shooting near 81 Avenue and 104 Street, police said in a Sunday news release.
When officers arrived, they located a man on the street who later died on the scene.
Police said a suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area and was found at a multi-unit residence in the area of 9 Avenue and 156 Street, where three people were arrested.
If confirmed to be a homicide, it would be the 29th in Edmonton in 2021.
On Saturday, police said an autopsy confirmed that the Sept. 23 shooting of 25-year-old Samaan Wani was a homicide.
Edmonton police continued to appeal to the public for help tracking down a black truck whose occupants may have been involved in Wani’s shooting.
