The Elite Prospects Draft Guide said of him: “Savoie reads defenders like few other players in the draft. He is acutely aware of opposing sticks and actively baits them. Savoie is deceptive; he looks off his targeted play and keeps the same grip on his stick, whether he’s passing, dangling, or shooting. Savoie fires with power, precision, and with some trickery; using screens to his advantage.”

TSN’s Craig Button had him at 48th, Bob McKenzie at 84th, the Athletic’s Corey Pronman at 92nd, Allan Mitchell of TSN at 63rd, and Mark Seidel at 73rd.

Pronman said of the player: “Inside the offensive zone and especially on the power play he can pick apart defenses due to how good a passer he is. He has the patience to wait out the defense for an extra second and quickly hit seams. He also has a high-end shot and often beats goalies from long distance. There is no doubting his skill, playmaking and scoring abilities. Savoie is a fine skater but lacks true NHL level quickness for his size. Scouts heavily criticize him off the puck as a player who takes shifts and games off, and as a one-way player.”

Savoie will play this year at the University of Denver.
