City police collision investigators are asking the public to provide dash cam footage after a crash put a 70-year-old woman in hospital.

The collision occurred around 2:19 p.m. Sunday afternoon on 103A Street just south of Ellerslie Road. According to a news release Monday, a BMW 335XI travelling southbound at high speeds lost control around a curve, crossed into the oncoming lane and smashed head-on into a Toyota RAV4.
The crash left a 70-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Toyota with life-threatening injuries. The 65-year-old man driving the SUV suffered minor injuries, while the BMW’s 33-year-old driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening wounds.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to provide dash cam footage via the EPS Complaint Line.
They also provided a photo of another vehicle of interest: a dark-coloured sedan spotted travelling with the BMW just prior to the collision.

The woman injured in the crash remains in hospital.
The crash happened just one day after a rush hour smash-up at 109 Street and Jasper Avenue involving a stolen water truck. Several people suffered minor injuries in that crash.
