City police are asking for doorbell and CCTV footage following a sexual assault of an elderly woman in a northeast Edmonton neighbourhood.

On Monday, Edmonton police responded to a report of the sexual assault in the area of 121 Avenue and 61 Street in the Montrose neighbourhood. It was reported to police that sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. a man rang the woman’s doorbell, forced himself inside and committed a sexual assault.

The suspect was unknown to the woman.

The man is believed to be between the ages of 45-60, approximately six feet tall and 190 pounds. He had dark stubble on his face and was wearing glasses, a blue jacket, dark pants and a black toque at the time.

Investigators are asking residents who live between 60 and 63 Street and 120 and 122 Avenue to review their doorbell and CCTV footage between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday for any suspicious activity or any individuals matching the suspect’s description.
