These pink, purple, blue cotton candy sunrises never get old. In fact, with a high to hit 8C Saturday, in November, it feels we could be at the carnival, with all its whirring rides, pistons pumping, streaks of colours, peacock displays. These are also strange times, a carnival freak show at every turn if we choose to take the ticket. When the novelty wears off, know to tune out, turn to nature, much easier with sunshine expected late into the week.

Soon, as we fall back in time Sunday, our days get even darker and it will be what we fill them with that makes life warm and bright. The kindling of love, kindness, keep the home fires burning and, as it follows, we can delight in an ember pop, watch it fly high in the inky sky, grateful for the show.
