A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Waking up to the sound and smell of fresh rain on the weekend sure is wonderful. Especially considering how dry it is out there, and the wildfires in the area. We recorded 9.5 mm of rain yesterday and forecasters are calling for another 10-15 mm of rain before the day is done.
That wind will still be a problem, though. Wind gusts of 30-50 km/h are likely to stick around until at least 5 p.m. tonight, forecasters say, while the rain will likely taper off later this evening around 11 p.m.
Personally, my backyard is happy for the rain. My lawn — my poor, sad-looking lawn — will surely be happy for it. By tomorrow, we’re looking at sunnier skies and highs in the mid teens so we could see a lot green come out. I missed the leaves. ?
