A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Sunday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -3.1 C with 3 km/h winds out of the northeast and a -4 wind chill.
It’s been a fun run.
The Edmonton Journal weather story started some three years ago and since then I have spent at least 30 minutes of my daily working life writing about wind chills and extreme cold, and thunderstorms and extreme heat, all the while understanding I am not an actual meteorologist just a silly person saying silly things on the internet.
I never expected the weather story be such a hit (shout-out to Laurel Nikiforuk for helping make that happen). Weather, as it turns out, is something we all love to talk about and debate and nitpick. I have enjoyed facilitating those conversations, and even making some of you laugh (and groan) along the way.

Over the years, I’ve received so many nice emails from people who took time out of their day to tell me how much they’ve enjoyed the weather story and I just want to say thank you to all those who reached out. Each one brought a smile to my face and it’s beyond appreciated.
Anyway, I won’t blabber on for too long (for once). So long, take care, and thanks for all the fish. Nom nom nom.
Today’s forecast
As for the actual weather, forecasters are calling for a high of 7 C but clouds are expected to roll in later tonight and we will see some snow starting tomorrow morning.
All in all, we can expect 2-4 cm of snow tomorrow. It’s not likely to stick around, though, with temperatures back above zero Tuesday. A weird cold snap Wednesday and then back above zero for the rest of the week sums up the month of March quite nicely. Up, down, up, down.
Does Lisa need a coat (and mittens)?
Not today, but have those mittens handy for the snow tomorrow.
