A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Sunday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured 7 C with 7 km/h winds out of the southwest.
March is about to throw quite the hissy fit, not leaving us without a fight. The impending stormy doom prompted forecasters to issue the following weather alert just before 6 a.m. Sunday:

Active spring weather expected in Alberta today through Monday.
A potent cold front will bring a band of active weather through Alberta beginning this afternoon. Rain showers, flurries and weak thunderstorms along with strong winds will move from northwest to southeast across the province. Bursts of heavy snow accompanied by strong winds will result in quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Western Alberta will be affected by late morning, while the Edmonton metropolitan region will be affected late Sunday afternoon.

Scattered flurries and winds gusting in the 70 to 90 km/h range will continue until Monday morning.
Weather alerts have already been issued for several regions in Alberta in advance of this storm and may be expanded as this system develops.

Stay off the roads, batten down the hatches, gather those patio cushions and other lightweight springy things any of you inadvertently teased the weather gods with, and LOSE the shorts already. Too soon.
Just know that when we finally get to the other side of this spring tantrum, we are in for temperatures in the 15 C range by Thursday.

Tonight: Mainly cloudy, 60 per cent chance of showers or flurries this evening. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 then increasing to 80 around midnight. Low -7 C. Wind chill minus 16 overnight.
Tomorrow: Mix of sun and cloud, 30 per cent chance of flurries in the late afternoon. Wind northwest 50 km/h gusting to 70 then diminishing to 30, gusting to 50 in the afternoon. High of -5 C, wind chill minus 19 in the morning and minus 13 in the afternoon. Clear overnight, low of -11 C.
