Edmonton weather: Sunshine for you to share with dads and father figures of every sort

A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

Mother Nature is blessing Father’s Day with sunshine to hit a high of 22 C. If you are so lucky to still have dad around, the climate is most conducive to a ramble beside him, on a trail, street or highway.

Or maybe the best option is a sitting in the sun, sharing your favourite cool beverage. If dad has passed on, it is a day to invite him into your mind as you do these things in spirit. And if dad was by extension some other holy figure of guidance, mark this day in the sun for them.

This day also ushers in a week of summertime temps to rise and hover in the 29 C range. For reals. The whole week, with 28 C still in store for next weekend. Summertime heat at the weekend. Bookends of heat!

On that note, and acknowledging that some of the most superior dads did their work in the ’70s and ’80s, including mine, here is an old summertime photo of my dad, wearing the earliest of photochromic lenses, his Terry Fox Run participant shirt, and tinkering with my grandpa’s old Pontiac.
