I’m sorry. You’re going to have to bear with me today. I’m hot. I’m grumpy. I am working in the basement surrounded by the chaos of my kids playroom. This heat wave is beating me.

I haven’t slept well in days and I’m seriously considering the possibility of checking in to a hotel room for the next two nights. Anyone with me?

I know I shouldn’t complain. My situation isn’t all that bad compared to the people that are working hard out there in this heat. Thank you for what you do. I don’t know how you’re doing it.

It’s been tough on everyone and put pressure on the energy and water systems. Extremely hot and dry conditions have prompted fire bans and restrictions in some communities.

Continue to be safe out there. Keeping checking in on those who are most vulnerable. Check your vehicles for pets and children before leaving.
