A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

It really struck me how far we’ve come since those long, dark January nights. Sitting around the dinner table and it is already dark for the night. Waking up early still in the dark of night trying to feel your way around to turn on the lamp.

Today I woke up and I could see perfectly. It wasn’t too dark and I could navigate my way around to get myself ready without needing to turn on the light.

It is such a treat to watch the sunset and the ducks on the pond well into the evening. We have also started to hear the baby frogs in the pond starting to croak, which is always the first true sign that spring is here to stay. Longer days mean we should start to see temperatures staying above zero overnight. Though we still could have a chance of overnight frost so I’m not rushing to get my flowers out yet.

So far we don’t see the precipitation we need in the forecast. We could honestly use a couple really good rainy days to freshen everything up and help turn everything green.
