Edmonton weather: Today's special is snow with a side of heavy snow fall

Snow is expected to begin in western Alberta today as it heads towards our city and we have a snowfall warning in effect as well.

Oh and also wind, don’t forget wind, from the forecast it looks like the wind could gust up to 70 km/h in the eastern part of the province so we’re not sure how much of that will come out way.

But as it falls we all know one of the most important things is to adjust your driving habits. Be safe and careful out there not just for you but for others on the road.

Today: Mainly cloudy. Snow at times heavy beginning near noon. Amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind becoming east 20 km/h gusting to 40 near noon. High plus 1. Wind chill minus 5 this morning. UV index 1 or low.

Tonight: Snow at times heavy. Blowing snow in outlying areas late this evening and overnight. Amount 10 cm. Wind northeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming northwest 40 gusting to 70 late this evening. Low minus 3. Wind chill minus 11 overnight.
