A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

Friday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -8.8 C with 2 km/h winds out of the southwest with a wind chill of -10.

It’s the little things in life that can bring the most joy.

Driving Jen to her physio appointment wasn’t supposed to be the highlight of my day yesterday until we got out on the road and we realized just how gorgeous it was outside. The heat (finally) didn’t need to be cranked all the way to its max settings, and you can forget about the seat warmers. As we ventured towards the clinic I cracked the windows ever so slightly and just took in the fresh air. Ahhhh I forgot how amazing that is. Of course, with all the sand and dirt on the roads you don’t want to crack that window too far lest you get a face full of dirt (lol).

Well we can enjoy a lot more of that moving forward as forecasters are calling for seven straight days of temperatures above zero, including a high of 1 C today. There will be a bit of a wind out there though (15 km/h) so keep that in mind. Otherwise, we’re shaping up for another beauty of a day, and an even more beautiful weekend with that high of 9 C holding firm for Sunday now. I might just have a backyard fire to celebrate. Enjoy!

Does Lisa need a coat (and mittens)?

Not really, no. A decent sweater should suffice but with that wind it’s best to keep a pair of $1.99 gloves handy, just in case.
