A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Friday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -16.2 C with 15 km/h winds gusting to 28 km/h out of the north and a -24 wind chill.
That was a brutal wake-up call.
I’m an idiot (in case you didn’t know) and forget to set my alarm correctly this morning which made the first few minutes of my day a bit hectic. I fumbled out of bed and stumbled up the stairs to the let the dogs outside but opening the door I quickly realized we’re not in Kansas anymore. A -24 wind chill? What the heck? I did not see that coming. It’s certainly not brutal cold like we had earlier this month but it’s also a far cry from the 7 C we got just yesterday. Needless to say I’m plenty awake now.
Anyway, I see we got some snow. Forecasters are calling for 2 cm today with a slight chance of flurries basically all day while the winds are expected to die down later this morning. We’re looking at a high of -8 C today and highs below freezing for the weekend. Looks like we might see some snow again Sunday before temperatures are expected climb back up to 8 C Monday. Up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right. Is that our forecast or a Nintendo cheat code?
