Edmonton is home to one of the finalists in the 2021 Canada’s Best Restroom contest.
Cintas Canada unveiled the finalists on Monday, and the restroom at Borden Park is in the top five.

The other restrooms to make the finalists list are the Toronto Zoo, Surrey Park in B.C., Sweet Market Esso in Red Deer, and The Rooftop in Calgary.
The nominees were judged by cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements.
Cintas’ contests are meant to highlight places that maintain exceptional washrooms.
“These five facilities demonstrate a commitment to prioritizing hygiene and customer service — especially as cleanliness is so important right now — combined with creativity and whimsy not usually seen in washrooms,” said Candice Raynsford, marketing manager, Cintas Canada.
Canadians are invited to vote for their favourite.
From now until July 9, you can go to www.bestrestroom.com/ca/ to vote on the restrooms. The winner will receive $2,500 in facility services from Cintas.
The Borden Park restroom was designed by gh3 and it’s made of wood, concrete and glass. It also features handsfree elements and stainless steel trough-style sinks to prevent getting water from being splashed on the floor.

The park, located at 7507 Borden Park Road, is known for its public art and natural swimming pool.
