Edmonton police are warning citizens about a recently released sex offender in Edmonton who they believe will commit another sexual offence.
In a Tuesday news release, the Edmonton Police Service said that convicted sex offender Robert Edward Ventress, 55, is to be released from jail after completing a sentence for failing to comply with a probation order.

Ventress will live in Edmonton after his release, according to police, and will be managed by the EPS behavioural assessment unit.
Ventress’ criminal history includes sexual offences and child pornography. Police say he “poses a risk of significant harm to the community” and may try to access children by forming close relationships with adults.
Anyone with information about Ventress’ conduct while in the community can contact the EPS at 780-423-4567. They discourage anyone from engaging in any form of vigilante action.
