Edmonton Fire Rescue Services battled an apartment blaze in north Edmonton Thursday afternoon.

The fire service first received a call just after 2:30 p.m. reporting a fourth-floor balcony fire that had extended to the roof of Castle Court, an apartment building located near 121 Street and 144 Avenue.

Nine crews arrived on scene minutes later to the approximately 30-unit building, spokeswoman Brittany Lewchuk said in a statement.

All residents were safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries.

The Emergency Support Response Team was also called in to assist.
