In a news release Tuesday, police said they responded to a trouble not known call around 6 p.m. at a 7-Eleven and Petro-Canada station at 116 Street and 107 Avenue.

Once arriving on scene, they found an unidentified man on the ground in medical distress. Paramedics ruled the man dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives have since deemed the death suspicious and taken over the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Police are seeking tips through Crime Stoppers or the police non-emergency line.

If the man’s death is ruled a homicide, it would be the city’s 18th of 2021.
