A massive fire at a St. Albert seniors home Thursday evening sent three people to hospital and displaced more than 100 seniors.
St. Albert RCMP and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) were all called in to assist local fire service at the Citadel Mews West seniors home located at 15 Erin Ridge Rd. around 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Edmonton fire spokesman Rowan Anderson said the whole building had been evacuated. Alberta Health Services said three patients were transported to hospital. Two patients suffered from smoke inhalation and were transported in serious but stable condition while a third received a minor cut.
