Incumbent councillor Aaron Paquette secured Ward Dene, formerly known as Ward 4, for a second term on council.
Paquette had a healthy lead over runner up Tricia Velthuizen, who also competed against him in 2017 for Ward 4.
An advocate for transit and environmental sustainability, Paquette campaigned on creating food security, cutting some of the regulatory red tape around the city’s licensing and permitting services, and supporting the Edmonton’s local economy through development opportunities.
Paquette was first elected to Edmonton city council as representative for Ward 4 in 2017, when he won with a fair lead in an open race against 11 other candidates.
