A man was approached by a stranger outside a homeless shelter in Grande Prairie where he was offered cash to get the COVID-19 vaccine using the stranger’s identification, Mounties say.
On Sept. 17, RCMP received a complaint of a male in a Chevrolet pickup truck conducting the fraudulent act outside the Wapiti House homeless shelter.
RCMP say the incident has been reported to police and the investigation is ongoing.
Grande Prairie is approximately 458 km northwest of Edmonton. The city of Grande Prairie has a COVID-19 vaccination rate of 67.7 per cent of those eligible with at least one dose of a vaccine.
