Premier Jason Kenney, Health Minister Jason Copping, and Jobs, Economy and Innovation Minster Doug Schweitzer will all be part of the latest update on COVID-19 in Alberta Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
The elected officials, along with chief medical officer of health Dr. Deen Hinshaw will be providing an update from Calgary on “COVID-19, supports for businesses and the ongoing work to protect public health,” according to a government news release.
On Wednesday, the province reported another 1,263 cases and 26 deaths.
Alberta also began publicly reporting outbreaks in schools.
An outbreak is declared with 10 or more cases, and an alert with two to nine cases, where a person was at school while infectious.
In the Edmonton Zone as of Wednesday, 135 schools were on alert and 10 more have outbreaks. Across the province the numbers sat at 54 outbreaks and 702 alerts.
