The case of a Leduc high school student accused of murdering a schoolmate last month continues to wind its way through the court system.
Dylan Pountney, 19, is accused of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Jennifer Winkler at Christ the King Catholic High School on March 15. He is charged with first-degree murder.
Both were students at the school and knew one another, though their exact relationship has not been confirmed.
On Thursday, Pountney’s case was briefly before a Leduc provincial court judge.
Defence lawyer Jordan Stuffco asked that the case be put over three weeks. He said he is still waiting to receive evidence disclosure from the Crown.
Pountney did not appear in court. Several members of Winkler’s family attended.
The case is next before a judge May 13.
