A man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Elmer Daurie, 31, earlier this month.

Edmonton Police Service officers responded to a call outside a convenience store near 115 Street and 107 Avenue at approximately 6:10 p.m. on July 12 and Downton Division patrol members found Daurie on the ground in distress.

Daurie was declared dead at the scene by paramedics and an autopsy on July 14 confirmed the victim died from a sharp force injury and it was ruled a homicide.

On July 23 police arrested the suspect in Dawson Park near 102 Avenue and 89 Street.

Thomas Franklin Jobb, 32, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection to Daurie’s death.
