At about 10:50 p.m., RCMP, Parkland Fire and emergency medical services responded to the single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the overpass of Range Road 40B, the Wabamun exit, and Highway 16.
In a news release Monday, police said a man and woman, both in their 30s, were on the motorcycle and took the exit off Highway 16 onto Range Road 40B travelling westbound. The initial investigation suggests the man driving the motorcycle did not see a concrete median with signs at the intersection of the overpass.
The man reacted too late and lost control of the motorcycle, causing him and the woman to fall off.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police said drugs are believed to be a factor in the collision.
