Man facing 19 charges after car stolen, occupant shot: Leduc RCMP

A 23-year-old man from Thorsby is facing 19 charges after he allegedly stole a vehicle and shot one of its occupants in Leduc.

Mounties said Friday there was a confrontation between a pedestrian and two people inside a vehicle at Willow Park Estates. A suspect took the vehicle and police found and arrested him a few hours later, seizing a weapon. One of the occupants, a man, was shot and sent to an Edmonton hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Isaac Joseph Raymond, 23, of Thorsby, has been charged with 19 offences including: aggravated assault; using a firearm in the commission of an offence; discharging a firearm with intent to wound, main or disfigure; possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and seven counts of failing to comply with a condition of a release order.

Raymond was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing. His next court date is July 29 in Leduc provincial court.
