A 62-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash along Jasper Avenue Tuesday evening.
Edmonton city police responded to a call about a vehicle collision at 106 Street and Jasper Avenue just before 9 p.m. Police said in a Wednesday news release that when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle had crashed into a concrete barricade and the driver slumped over the steering wheel unresponsive.
The man died a short time later in the hospital despite efforts by firefighters and paramedics.
Police said neither speed nor impairment were factors in the collision. The cause is still being investigated.
