One person in hospital after morning house fire

One person from the home was assessed by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on site before being transported to hospital.

One person was transported to hospital after a Thursday morning house fire in north Edmonton.

A passerby called 911 at 5:29 a.m. to report smoke in the area before fire crews arrived at the home near 133 Avenue and 104 Street four minutes later, said Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) in an email.

The blaze was declared under control at 7:38 a.m.

One person from the home was assessed by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on site before being transported to hospital.

Fire crews, including investigators working to determine the cause and damages, were still on scene just before 10 a.m.
