The Drayton Valley-Devon-Rimbey-Pigeon Lake area and the Red Deer-Ponoka-Innisfail-Stettler area each had severe thunderstorm warnings issued along with tornado watches.

The Rocky Mountain House-Caroline area also had a tornado watch issued.

A critical alert was issued after a rotating severe thunderstorm that was possibly producing a tornado was located near Knob Hill just after 9 p.m. A half hour later, however, the warning was called off as the threat of a tornado weakened.

The thunderstorm, however, remains dangerous due to large hail, strong winds and intense lightning.
