The 41-year-old man was hit Wednesday night while collecting items that had fallen from his truck. A northbound driver collided with the man near 34 Street and 28 Avenue at around 11:20 p.m.

Paramedics treated the victim for serious injuries and transported him to hospital, where he died Friday.

The EPS major collisions unit continues to investigate the crash but has not laid charges against the 60-year-old driver, police said in a Saturday news release. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or the police non-emergency line.
