A St. Albert man has been charged with attempted murder after a child was stabbed multiple times Sunday morning, say RCMP.
Around 8:35 a.m. on Oct. 10, St. Albert RCMP responded to a home in the Akinsdale area to assist Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on scene with the child who was quickly transported to hospital in stable condition.
A man arrested at the scene was also transported to an Edmonton hospital with injuries. He remains in stable condition.
Mounties say the case is isolated and all individuals involved know each other. Police are not looking for any other suspects.
The name of the man charged with attempted murder is not being released due to a publication ban to protect the child’s identity.
