A student was rushed to hospital Monday morning after what police are calling a “violent assault” at a Leduc high school.
Leduc RCMP responded to a 911 call just before 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic School, on the city’s east side.
Police arrested a “male suspect” a few hours later at 12:20 p.m. An RCMP news release did not specify whether that person is a youth or an adult. The suspect reportedly left the school after the incident.

Christ the King and other schools in the area were placed on lockdown, which has since been lifted. A spokesperson for the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic School said a news release would be issued later Monday.
The initial RCMP investigation involved police dogs, the RCMP Air Services unit and the Major Crimes Division.
