Suspect, witness sought after 2021 Whyte Avenue shooting death

A 25-year-old man is being sought on Canada-wide warrants after a 24-year-old man was shot dead off Whyte Avenue back in October 2021, say Edmonton city police.

Officers responding to a shooting around 2:18 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, found Tanraj Deogen injured on the street near 81 Avenue and 104 Street, police said in a Wednesday news release. Police attempted life-saving measures but Deogen died at the scene.

An autopsy on Oct. 7 of that year concluded Deogen died as a result of a gunshot wound and the case was classified as a homicide.

Dylan Furaha-Inkindi is now being sought for murder. Police warn that he may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Police are also seeking to identify another man who may be a witness in this investigation. He was seen at the time wearing a distinctive jacket.
