Technical problems are again hampering Alberta Health Services’ COVID-19 vaccine booking system.
Its online booking system for Covidshield and AstraZeneca vaccines is not working this morning, while 811 phone lines are overwhelmed. Bookings were scheduled to be available today starting at 8 a.m. for all Albertans born in 1961, and First Nations, Inuit and Metis people born in 1976.
“The COVID immunization online booking tool launch for 8 a.m. is delayed. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” AHS said via Twitter Saturday morning.
“Bookings through 811 are working. Lines are at capacity and you may be put on hold and/or receive a busy signal. Access to 811 to speak to a Registered nurse is not affected.”
The Alberta Health vaccine booking system has been plagued with technical issues amid the vaccine rollout program.
Alberta Health’s Kerry Williamson said in an email the “network-related issues” are not because of the online booking tool but are impacting it, and they hope to have it up and running shortly.
