A teenager was killed near St. Paul Monday evening when a vehicle crashed in a field.

Police were called around 8:45 p.m about a single-vehicle crash on Range Road 95A in St. Paul, the RCMP said Tuesday.

Investigators so far have found the vehicle was going north when it went off the road and “came to a stop” in a field, according to the news release. The driver, a 17-year-old teen boy from St. Paul, was declared dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 16-year-old girl, was also hurt and brought to hospital with minor injuries. She has since been released.

Collision analysts helped with the investigation, which continues.

St. Paul is about 200 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.

Mounties haven’t released any further information.
