Mask Up! A 2 Night Halloween Block Party: OK, Halloween, let’s do this! An adult event, the Grindstone’s outdoor party features eight fire pits, an outside bar and DJs curated by SWEAT, the nu-disco dance party … not to mention the Grindstone House Band.

This happens at 7 p.m., both Friday and Saturday nights. Advance tickets sold out, but there are still plenty of walk-up admissions.

After 11 p.m., the indoor VIP afterparty is sold out, sad to say, but the outdoor events are perfect for people who like to turn in before the drooling undead start to show up.

Details: 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. at Grindstone Theatre (10019 81 Ave.), $15 at the venue (sold out online)

You see what you don’t see: This brand-new conceptual art show, according to artists Denise St Marie and Timothy Walker, “explores beliefs that influence our perception of value. The work surveys how an environmental space contains assumptions that are embedded in the fabric of that built environment.

“This exhibition attempts to re-calibrate known systems like environmental objects, consumerist identity, currency and dialogue, by blurring the lines between the concrete and the conceived.”

Details: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. by appointment at SNAP Gallery (10572 115 St., book at snapartists.com), admission by donation

Blood Quantum (2019): In this TIFF Midnight Madness film by director Jeff Barnaby, the dead are coming back to life outside the isolated Mi’gMaq reserve of Red Crow, except for its Indigenous inhabitants who are strangely immune to the zombie plague.

Traylor, the local tribal law enforcement, armed with nothing but a gun, a hangover, and a six-pack, must protect his son’s pregnant girlfriend, apocalyptic refugees, and drunken reserve riff-raff from the hordes of walking corpses infesting the streets of Red Crow.
