Tenet (2020): Whoa — an actual new movie in theatres! In this international spy thriller from writer/director Christopher Nolan, a man known as the Protagonist (John David Washington) chooses to die rather than give the names of his colleagues. When he comes to in a hospital bed, he discovers it was a test and he has passed it. He joins a group of international spies, all of whom are all trying to prevent the Third World War. Are the trolls right about this film? Or are they just trolls, who live (if you call that life) on their own burp fumes? Only one way to find out, really …

Bill Bourne and Paul Steffes: Another awesome Porch Concert Block Party, this time with local be-hatted folksinger Bill Bourne and be-bearded guitarist Paul Steffes, a versatile, pan-genre picker who moved here not too long ago from Vancouver. Bourne, of course, is his own unique cat, his projects ranging from playing Ebenezer Scrooge for years to closing out the folk fest annually as squad leader of the ensemble’s Four String Winds. By now you know the safety deal, including bring your own chairs and bevvies, and cash donations are happily accepted.

Friday night suds at the Aviary: It still feels very strange where going to a bar and having beer is a cause for celebration and, indeed, notification — but $4 beer at the Aviary featuring local and local-ish breweries including Blindman, Alley Kat, Bent Stick and Sea Change with music playing on the PA was a far-off dream not so long ago, and it may indeed come to that again, so you might want to enjoy this production by the Muz boys while you can.
