Jerrold Dubyk Quartet: Part of the Blue Plate Jazz Sessions Series, Dubyk plays saxophone in his band every Thursday in February, two sets between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. As Blue Plate’s John Williams notes, “The lights will be turned down low and the ceiling dotted with little lights to create a very magical atmosphere.” Dubyk’s first introduction to music was through the violin, which he picked up at age five before eventually moving on to saxophone. Dubyk will play tenor sax, Roman Dubrule is on piano, Jeff Johnson handles acoustic and electric bass and John Newton is drumming.

One of his first cases is that of Walter McMillian, who is sentenced to die in 1987 for the murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite evidence proving his innocence. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, 14A, 136 Mins.
